George Shannon, a life long resident of Shannondale, died at 9 o’clock Thursday night after an illness of six of eight weeks, from cancer of the stomach. He was 55 years of age. He is survived by a widow and three children. The funeral will be held from the Presbyterian Church at Shannondale at 1:30 Saturday afternoon. His brothers are Charles of Shannondale and Edward of Lebanon; sisters, Mary Shannon, Mrs. Lizzie Hopper and Mrs. Nellie Lafollette of Lebanon. – transcribed by kbz
